NASHVILLE, Tenn. --- October 26, 2010 --- Veteran retailer Lori E Elam, owner of My Sister’s Closet Consignment store in Green Hills, announced plans to open Estrella Celebrity Consignment soon, with all proceeds to benefit animal rescue efforts.  Funds raised through the sales of clothing items worn and donated by celebrities will be earmarked for the Noah’s Ark Society 501 (c) 3 animal rescue non-profit in Nashville. Estrella will also seek and accept furnishings and unique novelty items from celebrities.

Elam moved to Nashville in 2005 to be near her twin sister here who had a set of twins on the way and decided to use her 20 years experience in retail and fashion to open My Sister’s Closet Consignment store in Green Hills. She has long supported various animal rescue organizations in the area and four years ago began leading the Nashville Animal Rescue Co-Op. Her passions for fashion, animal welfare and the drive to make civic contributions evolved into the concept of Estrella, which means “star” in Spanish.

“Our city is fortunate to have such a vast number of celebrities from the entertainment and sports world who make Nashville home,” said Elam. “So many of these talented stars generously donate to numerous charities and we have been pleased at the response we’ve received from them as we plan to open Estrella. The public has an appetite to purchase clothing which has been worn by a favorite celebrity while giving consumers the opportunity support animal rescue efforts locally.”

Among the most sought-after items include clothing, shoes, jewelry, handbags, furniture and novelty items. Elam noted that shoppers prefer to buy items which have actually been worn or used by a star in everyday life so that they may incorporate them into their own wardrobe or home. However, donations of gowns and stage costumes are welcome and appreciated. Stars and/or stylists merely need to contact Elam to drop off items or to arrange for a volunteer to pick them up when convenient by calling her at (615) 279-0802.
